“Out for Blood” a Solo Exhibition by LA Street Artist Haunted Euth Opens
October 5”
“If you're going to try, go all the
way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and
the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect
laughter. It's the only good fight there is.” – Charles
Bukowski and an adequate depiction of the creative approach taken by Haunted
Euth
Santa Ana, CA – Los Angeles Street Artist Haunted Euth is pleased to
announce “Out for Blood”, his newest
solo exhibition opening October 5, 2013 at GCS Santa Ana. Haunted Euth will be unveiling a massive 9” x
30” acrylic painting on paper about American history and war entitled
"Every Fucking Ten Years" along with other large paintings, hand
painted multiples (H.P.M.’s), graphite illustrations, wooden panel paintings, drawings,
prints and more featuring Haunted Euth’s distinctive street art which has been
seen installed in campaigns all over Los Angeles. Opening reception will take place October 5,
2013 from 6 pm to 11 pm. Exhibition will
be on view through November 5, 2013. GCS
Santa Ana is located at 209 N. Broadway, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
“Out for Blood” presents a body of work with a
marriage of techniques from screen printing to painting with acrylics, usage of
graphite, illustration and more. The
theme of the exhibition concentrates on skateboarding in California, riding and
crashing motorcycles, living life paycheck to paycheck, obsessing over women
and hiding in the pages of comic books to get away from reality. There are
numerous references to heavy metal, punk, skateboarding, drinking, drugs and
graffiti buried inside each piece.
Haunted Euth employs an organic
process where his captured moments within his mind spark his hands to
aggressively push graphite, tear paper, mix vibrant colors, pour ink and then
feel an immediate desire to repeat the process over and over. “It is a self absorbed and lone process that
can provide you the highest high you will ever feel, or the most crippling
sense of failure you can imagine,” says Haunted Euth regarding his creation
process. Haunted Euth’s motivations for creating are the rise and fall, the
failure and success and balancing between the two for the sake of true love and
passion for what he creates. Driven and
completely consumed, Haunted Euth eat, sleeps and dreams art and will never stop.
Many may also know Haunted Euth for
his Scream Icon which has been
plastered on the walls as street art in Los Angeles and elsewhere. This same Scream Icon was then used without
permission from the artist as a video backdrop during Green Day’s 21st
Century Breakdown tour. The artist filed
for instant action against Green Day for copyright infringement and after a
long battle for his artistic rights against Warner Brothers and the
multi-million band, Haunted Euth lost his case.
Haunted Euth’s landmark copyright case made headlines nation. The artists Scream Icon will be on display
and entitled “Fuck Green Day” during his solo exhibition “Out for Blood.” Haunted Euth encourages all artists to stand
up for their artistic rights!
